Tips to protect yourself, your family and your patients

Epidemiology Coordinator Penny Takizawa taught us how to keep the germs away from our patients, ourselves and our families during a Spiritual care Seminar Nov. 19.  The session focused on steps we can take to prevent the spread of infection from one person to another here and in our homes.

Effective hand washing technique is our central strategy of inflection control, Penny explained. You can read about the essential steps of good hand hygiene in a printer version of Penny’s slides that is available in the Los Gatos Spiritual Care office. Our session concluded with a “hand on” test of hand washing techniques as shown above by volunteers Susan Levin, (left); Patricia Wood (center); and Penny (right).
